Book an Appointment Today:

The Clinic is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Appointments are typically 50 minutes long. At your first appointment, you will be asked a series of questions and may be asked to complete a questionnaire. At the end of the first appointment, your psychologist will discuss with you a treatment plan, and book a series of appointments. In some circumstances, appointments are available via telehealth.

Appointments can be made by phoning or emailing Naomi at:

Phone: 0491 119 185

Email: admin@ncpsych.com.au

At your first appointment, the psychologist will spend time asking questions about your life, including your background and your current circumstances. This will assist her in developing a plan for future sessions. You may be asked to complete a questionnaire at this time.

If you have requested assistance for a child or young person, part of the first session is generally spent with a parent or caregiver. It is useful to bring another responsible adult to care for the child in the waiting room during the first part of the session. The psychologist will then spend time alone with the child, often playing games, drawing and talking.

At the end of the first session, the psychologist will work with you to develop a plan, including timing of future sessions, any “homework” between sessions, and the proposed length of therapy.

After your initial appointment is confirmed, we ask that you complete a questionnaire for yourself or, if you are making an appointment for a child, on behalf of the child.

Our forms and questionnaires will be emailed to you with your initial appointment confirmation.

They can be filled out electronically.  When completed, please return via email to admin@ncpsych.com.au or bring with you to your first appointment.

Do I need a referral?
A. No you do not need a referral to book an appointment. If you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you require a referral from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.

What assistance can I get with the cost of appointments?
A. There are several ways that you can reduce your out of pocket costs.
– ask your GP about a mental health care plan referral, which will provide a rebate of $96.65.
– claim part of the cost through your private health insurance.
– use NDIS funding.
Please contact the clinic for further information.

How can I pay for my sessions?
A. Payment is required at the time of consultation by either credit card, or direct deposit. Please contact the clinic before your session if this is an issue.

What if I have to cancel an appointment?
A. At least 24 hours notice is required to cancel an appointment. Please either phone or email the clinic so that the appointment can be offered to someone else. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee.

Fees & Rebates:

A fee schedule is available by contacting the clinic. Fees are payable at the time of consultation, by credit card or direct deposit. This clinic does not bulk bill, but can provide fee concessions for those in genuine financial need. Please discuss this at the time of making your appointment.

Medicare rebates may be available with a valid mental health care plan referral. Under this scheme, your GP will determine that you have an eligible mental health condition, and refer you to a psychologist who will assist with your treatment.

Eligible clients can receive Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual consultations per calendar year (a new referral is required after 6 sessions). This referral must be provided before the initial consultation. Individuals are responsible for ensuring that their referral is valid, and for keeping track of the number of consultations claimed. More information about Medicare rebates is available below.  Medicare rebates do not cover the full cost of your consultation, but does reduce your out-of-pocket expense.  The current Medicare rebate for a standard consultation is $96.65.

Medicare rebates can be electronically claimed at the time of consultation.

Naomi can provide services to individuals who self manage or are plan managed. Eligible services are provided at no out of pocket costs.

Most health funds provide coverage for psychological consultations. Coverage varies, so please contact your health fund to confirm. An invoice will be provided so that you can claim a rebate directly from your fund.
